Before you arrive
A thoughtful visit starts with what you know.
You see the everyday details we don’t. A little preparation helps us understand your pet’s life at home and make room for the questions that matter to your family.
Your visit essentials
- Previous care & records
- Have records from another practice? Let us know so your pet’s health history can be part of the conversation.
- Medications & everyday routines
- Bring the names of current medications and supplements, plus the details of your pet’s food and routine.
- Changes, questions & priorities
- Note what has changed, when it began, and what you hope to understand. Your observations help guide the visit.
Tell us what helps.
If visits feel difficult for your pet, call ahead. We can talk about preparing for your arrival.
Online forms & virtual check-ins
Forms that help us see your pet’s whole story.
A health history is more than a checklist. Highland’s virtual check-ins bring your observations, your pet’s risks, and your questions into the care plan before you step into the exam room.
Health histories & virtual check-ins
Find check-ins for annual care, puppies and kittens, follow-up visits, and specific consultations. Allow about ten minutes for the primary caregiver to share the details.
Find Your Check-InClient information & consent forms
New-client information, day admission, and procedure consent forms help us prepare. Our team can point you to the forms that apply to your pet’s appointment.

The relationship stays at the center.
Medications & refills
Access prescription and veterinarian-recommended products. If you’re unsure about a refill or an existing prescription, contact our team before you run out.
Nutrition & home delivery
Find Highland’s home-delivery diet resources. Ask us which nutrition recommendation belongs in your pet’s individual care plan.
Help with the practical part
If giving a medication is difficult, let us know. Highland can discuss available options, including compounded medications when appropriate.
Payment & financing
Clear information helps you plan for care.
Questions about cost belong in the conversation. We can discuss the recommended care, estimated costs, and available payment resources so you understand the next step.
Understand the recommendation
Talk through the plan before moving forward.
Ask about a treatment estimate during your pet’s visit. For non-routine care, including dental procedures, the exam helps determine what is needed before an estimate can be prepared.
Your questions are part of informed care.

A little clarity before the next step
Helpful answers for Highland families.
The small logistical questions matter. Here are a few places to begin—and you’re always welcome to ask us directly.
How do I request an appointment?
Use the appointment request page or call (812) 867-6651. Let us know the reason for your visit and any changes you have noticed. A request is not a confirmed appointment; our team will help coordinate the visit.
Request an AppointmentWhich forms should I complete?
The forms depend on the visit. Our Online Forms page includes new-client information, virtual check-ins, and admission or consent forms. If you’re unsure which one applies, call the team so we can guide you.
Find Your FormsHow do I access the pharmacy or ask about a refill?
Start with Highland’s Online Pharmacy page for pharmacy and home-delivery resources. For a question about an existing prescription, a refill, or giving a medication, contact our team. We’ll help you understand the appropriate next step.
Online PharmacyCan we discuss costs before treatment?
Yes. Ask about a treatment estimate during the visit. An examination is needed to estimate non-routine procedures, including dental care. The Payment & Financing page explains payment information and available financing resources.
Payment & FinancingWhat if my concern cannot wait?
If you are concerned that your pet needs urgent attention, call rather than relying on an online request. During business hours, Highland can discuss the next step. Outside those hours, contact an emergency veterinary facility; Highland does not provide 24-hour emergency service.
